A Norwich sixth form has been rated outstanding for the second time in a row by Ofsted.

Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form in Bethel Street has retained the rating since the last Ofsted visit in 2018.

The education watchdog highlighted how the sixth form can provide a range of extra-curricular opportunities and support for students.

Recent exam results have seen 40 per cent of students achieve A* to A while 85 per of grades were A* to C.

These results have continued the trend of the last four years and improving on grades achieved pre-pandemic.

Principal Christopher Jennings said: “I am really pleased that Ofsted recognised the efforts staff and students have gone to build such a well-rounded, family-orientated atmosphere.

"We have a fabulous group of students at the school who are a real credit to their families and the schools they came from.”  

The Ofsted report also said that teachers are experts in their fields and have offered students a deep insight into specialist subjects.
