A group of students have launched their own independent game studio in Norwich.

Dylan Wilson, 19, Cody Miller, 18, and Michael Beckwith, 18, are in their second year of the Games Technology Level Three course at Access Creative College.

But outside of studying, they have launched their own indie studio called Uprise Games.

Indie game studios are defined as a small group of people who make games without the budget of the larger corporations.

Dylan Wilson, the company's director, said the studio's focus was on "creating experiences that forge enduring memories among friends and families".

The trio has already created three digital games that are exclusively available on the Steam platform and will soon be hosting 'game jams', which are live sessions in which participants club together to try to make a game from scratch.

The group explained their passions for gaming began in childhood and shaped who they became as adults.

They said: "We all grew up around video games and our exposure to video games became an integral part of our upbringing.

"Over time, our passion for gaming has inspired us to create and build our communities."

They added that it made sense to pursue the hobby as a career because "they do say that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life".
