No charge has yet been made in connection with three derelict building blazes as an ongoing arson investigation continues.

Beginning in July this year, a series of fires broke out at disused sites in the Norwich area, in Thorpe St Andrew and Trowse, sparking serious concerns about the security of such sites.

The most recent incident saw the roof of a former Victorian pumping station in Trowse almost completely gutted as dozens of firefighters battled the overnight blaze.

The listed building fire was the third in a string of similar incidents in which a former industrial building and mental hospital were also targeted - all revealed to be arson by independent Police and Fire investigations.

But four days after the Trowse fire, a teenager was arrested and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre on suspicion of causing all three fires.

He was released on police bail with a 9pm to 6am curfew and ordered not to enter any derelict buildings.

While not charged, he is due to answer bail on Saturday, December 16.
