Four men have been jailed for 18 weeks after police found more than £1,000 worth of stolen alcohol in two cars.

Officers stopped a Ford Focus and Renault Clio in Pound Lane, Thorpe St Andrew on Friday, November 24 at around 10am and found stolen alcohol worth £1,457.

All four men were from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.

Eduard Florin Dumitrescu, 20, Radu-bogdan Mircea, 22, and Ionut Buldus, 26, all of Court Close, and Marius Gheorghe, 28, of Friarage Road were each charged with theft from a shop.

The men pleaded guilty to the offence at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday, November 25 and they were each given 18 weeks in jail, suspended for 12 months.

They were also ordered to pay £154 in surcharge and £145 in costs.
