Minute's silence held at Blofield United for Paddy Murphy

Patrick Murphy, better known as Paddy, had a 22-year-stint as manager of Blofield United's first team. 

He died last Sunday after a battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

The minute's silence will be held at all of Blofield United's games at the weekend, including the first team, reserves and youth levels. 

There are also plans for it to be held league-wide by clubs in the division.

The FA issued a statement on October 31 confirming Mr Murphy's death and saying: "There will be a minute's silence before Blofield United’s matches this weekend November 4, 2023."

Kris Hart, who played for Blofield United under Mr Murphy and who will be playing for the first team's game against the UEA at the weekend, said: "Paddy lived and breathed Blofield.

"I think they'll be a lot of mixed emotions at the game, but it's important we do what Paddy would want us to do - go out and win the game.

"It's key that we go out there and show the character and the belief Paddy instilled in us while he was manager - the 'Blofield spirit' he would call it."
