While the Big Boom in Norwich city centre is cancelled in 2023 due to council spending cuts, there are still plenty of fantastic fireworks displays to enjoy in the area.

1. Wymondham

Where: Wymondham Rugby Football Club, Barnard Fields, Bray Drive, Wymondham, NR18 0GQ

When: Friday, November 3, 5pm-10.30pm 

Price: Adults (16+): £8, under 16s: £5, under 4s: free, tickets must be booked in advance at wymondhamrfc.com/club-events, parking is sold out

The club is promising more fireworks, entertainment and food stalls than ever before at its 2023 event. 

The fireworks will start at around 8pm and there will also be a funfair.

2. Hethersett

Where: Crusaders Rugby Club, Little Melton Road, Hethersett, NR9 3NP

When: Saturday, November 4, 5pm 

Price: Adults and children over 5: £5, under 5s and club members: free, walk-in family ticket (up to 5 people) or full car including entry: £20, tickets purchased on the gate, car parking is limited and cash only

Crusaders Rugby Club is hosting a professional fireworks display by Flash FX, which will be set off at 7.30pm.

There will also be sparklers, face painting, a barbecue, mulled wine and street food from local vendors such as Yellow Door Eats and Moco Kitchen.

3. Taverham 

Where: Taverham Scout Headquarters, Sandy Lane, Taverham, NR8 6JR

When: Saturday, November 4, from 6pm 

Price: Tickets are now sold out but there is a limited number available for the second display only (with entry from 7.40pm) for £4.50 plus fees (under 5s free) at ticketsource.co.uk/taverham-scouts, no on-site parking

The 1st Taverham Scouts are once again putting on fireworks and lighting a bonfire.

There will also be a barbecue, jacket potatoes, soup, doughnuts, popcorn and a bar.

4. Hellesdon

Where: Hellesdon High School, 187 Middletons Lane, Hellesdon, NR6 5SB

When: Saturday, November 4, 5pm-8pm 

Price: Adults (16+): £5, children (3-15): £3, family ticket (2 adults, 2 children): £15, under 3s: free, parking is sold out, pre-book at ticketsource.co.uk/the-friends-of-kinsale-junior-school

The Hellesdon Fireworks and Halloween Night promises to be a great evening out for all ages, with the display at around 7.30pm. 

There will also be tasty food, a bar and more so make sure to turn up early.

5. Thorpe St Andrew

Where: Fitzmaurice Park, Pound Lane, Thorpe St Andrew, NR7 0UL

When: Sunday, November 5, 4pm-9pm 

Price: Entry: £5, under 3s: free, pre-booking is essential at buytickets.at/tsatc, due to weather conditions visitors are now being urged to walk - if not possible the car parking has moved to Sir George Morse Park and it costs £2 (cash only), Thorpe St Andrew High School is now for Blue Badge holders only 

This major fireworks display on the outskirts of the city will take place at approximately 7.30pm.

The gates will open at 4pm and there will also be food stalls, a bar and a funfair.

6. New Costessey

Where: Norfolk Showground, Dereham Road, New Costessey, NR5 0TT

When: Saturday, November 11, from 4pm

Price: Adults: £12.50, children (4-17): £5 (both plus booking fee), ages 3 and under: free, book at autumnlights.co.uk, free parking 

Autumn Lights is back at the Norfolk Showground for the third consecutive year.

There will be two fireworks displays, with one for children at 7.20pm and the finale, complete with a laser show, at 8.30pm. 

There will also be a funfair and entertainment from DJ Ryan Swain and a live band, with glow and fire performers too.

7. Bergh Apton

Where: Chet Valley Vineyard, Loddon Road, Bergh Apton, NR15 1BT

When: Saturday, November 11, 6pm-9pm 

Price: £15 (including a glass of Skylark sparking wine), children: £5, chetvineyard.co.uk/events 

Chet Valley Vineyard is hosting a special bonfire and fireworks event this November, which can be watched from either the wine meadow or the tasting room with a large balcony. 

There will also be the chance to enjoy wines from the vineyard and a pizza van will be there too.
