An EastEnders star has swapped Albert Square for the supernatural as she stars in a West End play that is now touring the UK.

Louisa Lytton, best known for her role as Ruby Allen in the BBC soap, plays Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story, which is at Norwich Theatre Royal from October 10 to 14 2023.

The award-winning thriller was written by Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcasts Uncanny and The Battersea Poltergeist.

In 2:22 A Ghost Story, Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam, played by It's A Sin actor Nathaniel Curtis, isn’t having any of it.

They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren (Charlene Boyd) and her new partner Ben (Joe Absolom).

Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening so they are going to stay up until 2:22am to find out.

Lytton said: "It is a fantastic play and we have been performing to packed audiences.

"It is set over one evening in one person's house and it is a really fun night out, with a couple of jump scares.

"It is like nothing you have experienced in a theatre before."

Lytton's soap character is currently in prison following a feud with former best friend Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), which led to Ruby being set up for running a cannabis farm.

Lytton left the show in 2021 on maternity leave, giving birth to her first child Aura in September of that year.

Teasing a possible EastEnders return, she added: "There aren't any plans at the moment, but I think it would be really nice to do a full circle and come back together with Stacey.

"But I don't know if it could happen as Ruby had been with her ex-husband Martin (James Bye)."
