One feathered criminal was seen being nicked by police in Norwich this morning.

A swan was spotted wandering the city streets in the early hours before it was picked up by officers in Castle Meadow.

The bird was seen swanning up Ber Street alone at around 6am.

Officers were called to Orford Hill at 6.56am following reports of the swan in the road.

The swan was taken to Whitlingham Lake where it happily joined some other swans.

It was important that the prized bird was taken to safety away from busy traffic as wild unmarked mute swans belong to the Crown.

You could say it was the real Hot Fuzz in Norwich, with just the one swan, actually.
