A pub in the heart of the city is encouraging Norwich City fans to make a pit stop on their way to matches to bring their team good luck.

Landlord of the Garden House pub in NR2, Jonothon Childs, is encouraging Canaries supporters to drop off food such as pasta and beans en route to Carrow Road.

Food collected will then be passed onto people in need – with regulars hoping it will boost their team's fortunes thought to be behind a huge increase in match day food donations.

Jonathon said: “As a pub we strive to be a hub in a community to help those in need.

“Our foodbank, however, is very stretched at the moment as we are in such high demand so it is really lovely to see this kindness spread throughout match days.

“People who donate can really help us to help those in need.”

Donations can be dropped off at the Garden House, in Pembroke Road, during opening hours but the special match day food drive happens on days when Norwich are at home.
