Aldiss, Norfolk’s largest furniture and furnishing retailer, is embarking on a major investment in its Fakenham distribution centre.

The works which are expected to commence this autumn are part of the family-owned retailer’s £500k investment in improving the facilities and efficiencies of their warehouse and distribution operation which services the company’s two retail stores in Norwich and Fakenham.

The planned work involves the demolition of part of the warehouse structure in phase one, the recladding and roofing of a second area in phase two and the replacement of shipping containers used for storage with a new purpose-built warehouse unit.

In keeping with Aldiss’s policy of using local suppliers where possible, A C Bacon have been engaged to supply the new structures, with Anglian Demolition and Co-Build also to be contracted

The works are to be phased over a 12 month period to ensure the company can continue to receive and distribute goods throughout the construction period.

Bosses believe the investment will result in the business being in a strong position to continue growing both in store and online.
