The new owners of a village pub just off the A47 are aiming to make it Norfolk's next top foodie destination. 

Brothers Richard and Stephen Hogg, who are both chefs, took on the King’s Head in Blofield in June and have created a menu with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients.

Richard has been cooking for 17 years and says his inspiration comes from reinventing modern classics from British cuisine.

"It's been going well so far and we had amazing feedback after we launched our Sunday roasts,” he said. "The former landlords didn't serve food so we've really tried to make ourselves into a foodie destination gastropub.

"However, we're lucky in that our location allows us to stay as a village pub and keep a feel of being present in the local community." 

After a busy summer season, the pair are planning to launch an autumn menu with dishes including an aged short rib and beer pie with seasonal vegetables and bone marrow jus.
