Police are searching for a group of teenagers in connection to a fire in a field in Wymondham.

Eyewitnesses said they saw at least four people aged 13-15 years old fleeing the scene of the blaze on Monday (August 7).

Poppy Bell and her dad were walking their dog along the edge of the field behind Wymondham garden centre when they saw the group acting suspiciously.

The 24-year-old said: "We couldn't see exactly what they were doing but they were huddled together and lingering around on the corner.

"My dad then saw them running away and we could see smoke coming up from the ground.

"My dad tried to stamp out the flames but we soon realised we weren't able to contain it."

They called the emergency services and the fire was put out shortly after 7pm.

Fire crews used hand appliances to extinguish the fire and police also attended the incident.

Poppy recorded footage at the scene which she says has helped the police with their enquiries.

No one was injured.
