Roadworks expected to cost £173,700 are set to cause disruption through a village near Norwich for five weeks.

Work will begin on a pedestrian crossing at Holt Road in Horsford on July 31.

The project, which will see a new pedestrian island installed in the road along with resurfacing of the carriageway and path, is expected to take five weeks to complete.

From July 31 until September 3, Olive Crescent will be closed to all traffic at the junction with Holt Road.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place in Holt Road near the junction with Olive Crescent from July 31 until August 29.

Holt Road will be closed to through traffic between the junction with Flagcutters Way and the junction with Barrett Lennard Road from August 29 until September 3.

Access to Sandy Lane and Olive Crescent will be from Norwich direction only, from August 29 until September 3.

Throughout the works, footway closures will be required in Holt Road and Olive Crescent. 

Contractors may be working during the evenings to minimise the duration of the scheme.
