Norwich has been crowned as the best place for cycling in the UK.

Around 2,000 adults were surveyed as part of Saga's Cycling Cities campaign to determine the most cycle-friendly cities in the UK.

Norwich reigned over Newcastle as it was named the most cycle-friendly city in the UK.

London came in last place at number 17, below Birmingham.

The factors considered in the survey were bicycle usage, the availability of bike share schemes, cyclist safety, the likelihood of bike theft and the impact of local weather conditions, such as average rainfall, on cycling.

Norwich's scores ranged between 4.17 to 8.18 out of 10 for each of these sections.
