The shopping district is home to more than 300 indies, which are represented by voluntary community group the Norwich Lanes Association (NLA).

An NLA spokesman said: “We are absolutely delighted with the turnout and the feedback this year. The NLA estimate that around 25,000 visitors attended the fayre throughout the day.

“We believe this much-loved event boosted the local economy by as much as £350,000 and attracted visitors from all over Norfolk and as far away as Cambridge and London too. Not bad for an organisation made up entirely of volunteers.

“This year’s fayre was sponsored by Norwich University of the Arts which we believe is the perfect partner for such a creative event.
