Bus services to and from Norwich are set to change with new timetables and an increased frequency of buses to meet passenger demands.

First Bus has announced from Sunday, July 23, the changes to its services will include a new timetable affecting the Orange, Yellow, Purple, and Charcoal routes.

The Orange Line will be operating one bus every hour on Mondays to Saturdays through the Fiddlewood Estate during off-peak times of the day.

Services will increase on the Yellow Line X29 to and from Fakenham with a bus up to every 30 minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday. 

Buses will also follow a new route in and out of the town travelling along Holt Road between Greenway Lane and Norwich Road.

But buses will no longer be stopping at Fakenham Toll Bar due to the low numbers of people using the service.

Yellow Line 29 buses will also operate to new times, with buses following a one-way clockwise loop from Drayton along Taverham Road, Orchard Bank, Shakespeare Way, Byron Road, Victoria Road, St Edmunds Road, Nightingale Drive and Beech Avenue before returning along Fakenham Road.

The Purple Line will also increase in frequency, with the 36A to and from Harleston operating every hour on Mondays to Saturdays. 

There will be other minor changes to the Purple Line services 36, 37, 37B and 38.

The Charcoal Line will be run more often between Bungay and Norwich with a bus expected every 30 minutes. 

Most 99A journeys between Bungay and Halesworth will be withdrawn but will operate more often between Halesworth and Southwold and Lowestoft.
