A street food van started by a former UEA student is hosting a hot wing challenge after a year of expansion for the business.

Fresh Outta London, founded by 23-year-old entrepreneur Remi Mohamed, started as a food truck during his second year of university.

The street food kitchen served dishes at the Louis Marchesi pub in Tombland, the UEA LCR and the Fiveways pub in Gipsy Lane.

It can now be found at The Boundary pub in Aylsham Road in the form of an Airstream trailer which has given the firm "much more freedom".

Mr Mohamed, who is helped by his girlfriend Serena Gordon, said: "I was leaving the LCR and was so hungry but there was nothing open, so the idea stemmed from there after they let me open something late at night."

Fresh Outta London is now hosting a hot wing challenge at The Boundary pub on July 15.

There will be a long table and competitors must eat six wings within five minutes, before sitting without a drink or licking their lips for another five minutes.

The competition will be a knockout, with rounds getting hotter before one person is left and secures the £100 prize.

Fresh Outta London has been working on tuning its recipes and expanding the menu as the team "realised what people liked".

Suppliers include local butcher shops, Bread Source and Let's Meat Butchers for halal meat.

Mr Mohamed added: "Norwich locals have been really supportive and helped the business grow and when we have changed locations people have followed us.

"It is quite stressful but rewarding and being your own boss you can see the direct outcomes. People make suggestions and we love to try them."

A Man Vs Food-style hot dog challenge is planned for The Boundary pub in August.
