The owners of a much-loved pasta restaurant are opening a pub in Norwich, with its new name nodding to the city's rich weaving history.

Friends George Colley and Natty Crothers launched Yard in Pottergate in 2021 and earlier this year they took on a kitchen residency at The Stanley pub in NR3.

The pair are now expanding again by taking on the leasehold of a pub.

The Weavers Arms, previously The Garden Cocktail Bar and Eatery and before that The Woolpack Yard, is set to open on July 13 at 2 Muspole Street.

The pair has given it a huge refurbishment, including a new kitchen and solid oak furniture, and there is seating for 48 inside and 100 in the beer garden.

Mr Colley, who is also a business partner in Brick Pizza, said: "We will be keeping the same ethos as Brick and Yard with low prices but high-quality ingredients.

"It will be a traditional English pub menu with a few twists and items like pies, bangers and mash, toasties and Sunday roasts."

It will be open every day and serve a range of beers, wines and cocktails too.
