Plans for a derelict school that has been vacant for seven years have been revealed.

The former Langley Preparatory School building in Thorpe St Andrew could be converted into a storage and distribution centre until 2025.

The Beech Hill site, off Yarmouth Road, was occupied by the institution until it merged with Taverham Hall Preparatory School in 2016.

Since then, it has been the victim of two arson attacks - one in 2018 and the other in 2020.

An application from developers Stantec in 2020 secured permission for the building to be used for storage and distribution over a temporary period of two years - expiring on July 24 2022.

The latest proposals seek to renew this permission until 2025.

Application documents state: "While the buildings are in good condition, there has been no market interest.

"In order to enable use of the buildings and to provide a source of income for the owner, a previous application secured temporary planning permission for storage and distribution, for which there has, and continues to be, an identified market need."

The application will now be considered by Broadland District Council.
