Norwich has been named among the top places for a night out in the UK, beating usual clubbing favourites such as Manchester and Liverpool.

Get Licensed, a nightclub security company, compiled the list based on safety levels, the number of bars and clubs, the cost of a pint and the locals' safety concerns.

Norwich was voted sixth on the list of the best places in the country for a night on the tiles due to the city's safe surroundings and affortable drinking spots.

Newcastle took the top spot, due to its "boozy bars and clubs" and the average price of a beer costing around £4.20 a pint.

The average cost of a pint in Norwich is £5.68 - meaning your night out may be a bit pricier than in northern clubbing hotspots.
