1. The Black Horse, Earlham Road 

The garden at The Black Horse is a hidden haven tucked behind the 18th-century pub, which serves a range of seasonal dishes utilising Norfolk produce. 

The outdoor space is beautifully landscaped with fairy lights, plants and plenty of benches, with a heated undercover seating area for summer evenings.

2. The York, Leicester Street 

The York in the heart of the Golden Triangle reopened earlier this year with a new team, led by couple Wendy Rose and Joe Kelly.

As well as switching up the interior and the food and drink offering, with plans for supper clubs too, the garden has also been given a revamp and it now has a petanque pitch for boules.

3. The Brewery Tap, Lawson Road 

This NR3 gem is packed with character and it has been given a whole host of awards by CAMRA for its extensive range of beers. 

It has a spacious beer garden out the front where you can also enjoy loaded fries from Motherchip, which is the permanent food offering there.

4. The Garden House, Pembroke Road 

This pub is a community hub and the landlord and landlady Jon and Tanya Childs go the extra mile to help others, which has included a free buffet lunch and entertainment for Ukrainian families. 

It offers a great range of ciders and beers and boasts a large garden with a marquee.

5. The Eagle, Newmarket Road 

Located just a stone's throw from the city centre in Newmarket Road, The Eagle has one of the biggest pub gardens in Norwich.

As well as being a great spot for al fresco dining during the spring and summer months, you can also book barbecue parties for 20 to 120 people.

6. Last Pub Standing, King Street

This lively pub hosts regular live music events and has an undercover garden with an outdoor stage to be enjoyed all year round.

Norwich Soul Kitchen serves up authentic Caribbean dishes and chef Geoff Mayers fires up the barbecue on bank holidays and for special events.

7. The Georgian Townhouse, Unthank Road

This hidden oasis boasts a huge walled beer garden, with plenty of shady spots and parasols for warmer days and it is very dog friendly. 

It also recently opened a revamped children's play area, which has proved very popular with families.
