A converted Victorian chapel which was used as a hospital during the First World War is for sale on the edge of Norwich.

The Grade II listed property is on the market for £735,000 in St Andrews Park in Thorpe St Andrew.

Originally a hospital, it was built between 1811 and 1814, expanded in the late 1850s and modernised around 1890.

During the First World War, it was the Norfolk War Hospital for military casualties and during the Second World War was used as a hospital for refugees, evacuees and civilians. The hospital closed in 1998.

The chapel has four bedrooms, a large open-plan reception with a kitchen, a large balcony and a mezzanine study area.
