This October, Angela will be taking to the stage to compete in her first pageant, after reaching the national final of Ms Great Britain Classic.

The 48-year-old said: “I’ve never done anything like this before.

“I did some plus-size modelling a few years ago for Kerry Katona and I went on a spiritual journey to Portugal, and I just feel like it’s time for me.”

The mum-of-three, who lives in Old Catton, hopes that she can inspire her children Kate, 25, Eve, 17, and Elle, 11, to grab every opportunity presented to them.

She said: “I am not what people would have classically thought could be in a pageant.

"I wear a size 22, I am not the hair, make-up and dresses kind of girl.

“But I want people to see that beauty comes in all different shapes and sizes."

Angela said: “The pageant has been running for 78 years, back then it was a beauty pageant but now they are in their third year of offering categories which offer all women the chance.

So as Angela prepares to step on stage in the classics category she is also fundraising, which is a huge part of the pageant.
