A spokesman for Bar and Beyond Norwich said: "We would like to reassure our guests and staff that it is business as usual – we are not going anywhere.

"The landlord is looking to sell the building but this does not impact our business or the lease that we have in place – put simply, all it means is we will be paying rent to someone else.”

The full site under the lease comprises of two buildings that are interlinked and terraced.

Elysia Wilson-Gunn, senior associate of Fleurets, said: "Rekom is a stable and attractive covenant with another year of successful trading and still being the largest nightclub operator within northern Europe.

"This unit is located in a high student population area with a strong footfall location.”
