When a pair locked eyes at a dance in 1957 they could not have imagined they would one day celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary - as it was not love at first sight.
But love was in the air in Cringleford as two care home residents celebrated the special milestone.
Stan, 91, and Nancy Thompson, 86, toasted their marriage at Care UK’s Cavell Court, in Dragonfly Lane, where they live.
The now smitten pair met at a dance in Norwich in 1957 – they went on to make their first official date with another dance in the Princess of Wales Road dance hall.
March 30, 1959, marked the wedding day of the happy couple where they tied the knot at St Andrews and St Peter Church in Blofield.

Together they have gone on to be the proud parents of two daughters, Franki and Sue, and have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Stan recalled thinking she looked “nice” when he first met her at the dance.
Nancy said: “I thought he was quite alright, but it wasn’t love at first sight!”
To toast the special milestone, staff at Cavell Court decorated the home’s coffee shop with balloons and banners for the occasion.
They also went the extra mile to ensure it was a special day, by surprising Stan and Nancy by inviting their family along to join the celebrations.
