The owner of an elderly moggie has been urged to contact Guinness World Records as it could be the oldest living cat in the world.

Rosie lives with her owner Lila Brissett in Peckover Road, Norwich, and is believed to have been born on June 1, 1991 - making her almost 32 years old.

Rosie's mum was a grey rag doll - which gives Rosie her "bushy squirrel tail" - and her dad is believed to have been a ginger tom.

A spokeswoman from Guinness World Records, which lists world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world, said: "We would encourage Lila to make an application for Rosie via the Guinness World Records website for our Records Management Team to review."

It added that the oldest cat ever is Creme Puff of Austin, Texas, who was born on August 3, 1967 and lived until August 6, 2005 - 38 years and 3 days.
