1. Grosvenor Fish Bar, Lower Goat Lane

This award-winning chippy offers a unique experience for those eating in, with a flight of stairs leading to a cosy bunker complete with hidden coves.

The menu at this Norwich Lanes institution ranges from traditional fare to specials such as the Waco Taco with spicy cod and BBLT with treacle and beer-battered bacon.

2. Leslie Terrance, Magdalen Road

Enjoy everything from cooked breakfasts to cakes among the plants at this NR3 spot, run by Kerri Notman.

The cellar seating area has a Mediterranean feel with rustic furniture and greenery and she has also just launched a pizza menu.

3. The Bowling House, Dereham Road

This independent bowling alley, which recently celebrated its fifth birthday, is one of the city's most popular venues with karaoke booths, comedy nights and bingo events too.

The food menu features a range of small and larger plates and you can enjoy a meal or cocktail overlooking the retro lanes.

4. Casita, Norwich Market

Stallholders Sir Toby's Beers and Cocina Mia collaborated to open a cosy 'Casita' dining area last year, where you can enjoy authentic Chilean dishes alongside your favourite tipple.

There are also special evening openings, where customers can enjoy sharing platters, stews and much more.
