The beauty entrepreneur is joining forces with her husband for the first time, who is embarking on quite a drastic career change moving from his role in engineering to managing a salon.

"It is a big change but we are looking forward to being a dream team and making the new salon a success," she said.

The new salon is called Brick Hairdressing and will offer nine positions for hairdressers on a self-employed basis.

Mrs Barratt added: "While our hairdressers will work on a self-employed basis, we hope to create a coherent team all working together using the same products, so it won't feel disjointed like some salons can be.

"We still have lots of work to do but the renovation is on schedule.

"Everyone keeps saying to us how lovely it is to see a business booming which is great."

Brick Hairdressing is set to open on May 2.
