Mother's Day is fast approaching and it's not always easy to find somewhere to have a sit-down afternoon tea. Why not try a takeaway one instead?

From creative-themed teas to Michelin-quality patisserie treats, there is a wide range of options available for you to enjoy afternoon tea in the comfort of your own home.

1. Assembly House

The Assembly House know how to do an afternoon tea with previous themes including an Alice in Wonderland tea and an Easter afternoon tea.

The Mother's Day afternoon tea is available for 'Cakeaway Takeaway' so you can enjoy delicious cakes, such as a raspberry and rose choux swan and a Biscoff macaron, at home. 

Head pastry chef Mark Mitson is also making sweet and savoury scones, dainty finger sandwiches and a range of tempting savouries. 

You will be able to collect your tea from the Theatre Street venue's Grand Hall within your designated 10-minute collection window.

Bookings are open for 'cakeaway' and will close on Friday, March 17 at 2.30pm.

Mother’s Day Cakeaway costs £22 per adult and £14.95 per child. 

 

2. Little Pie Patisserie

Katie-Marie Park, 34, has run the Little Pie Patisserie from her kitchen for the last seven years. She makes pastries, cakes and grazing tables for a range of events from supper clubs to weddings.

The cake business has launched a special Mother's Day tea which can be ordered on its website for home delivery. The box will include scones with clotted cream and jam, cupcakes with edible flowers and a selection of savoury snacks.

The tea is £19 per person and all sweet items are included inside the box, and savoury items can be chosen from the list.

3. Hestia's Patisserie

Hestia Patisserie is run by professional chef Rebecca Heath. Ms Heath has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe.

She now runs her own business, featuring luxury patisserie treats that she has showcased at Black Barn Farm in Norfolk. 

There are three levels of Teas to choose from which are available to parties of six people and above. All tea options come with Clipper English Breakfast Tea Bags. 

Ms Heath delivers to central Norwich for an added cost of £5, and a map of her delivery radius can be found on her website.

4. Harriet's Cafe and Afternoon Tea Rooms 

The cafe offers takeaway afternoon tea in their Norwich location. 

Inside the afternoon tea box will be a variety of finger sandwiches, two freshly baked scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. 

There are also cream tea or cake boxes available with a different selection of treats available. The tea boxes start at £12 per person and can be collected from the cafe or delivered using their free nationwide delivery service.

If you order a delivery box, prices start at £20 per person.

5. Park Farm Hotel

Park Farm Hotel offers its delicious afternoon teas in a takeaway box. If you're feeling thirsty, you can grab a hot drink to go or have freshly ground coffee or loose-leaf tea to take home.

The afternoon menu starts at £25 per person and can be upgraded to include alcohol.

Savoury and sweet treats available include smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, a vanilla pistachio macaron and a salted caramel and chocolate tart.

They were also rated as one of the best afternoon tea spots in England last year by Muddy Stilettos.
