A woman from Norwich who set up an online cake business as a hobby during lockdown has seen her business become so successful that she took it on as a full-time job.

Ella Marsham, 24, started the business in 2020 during the second year of her course at Sheffield Hallam University.

Eat With Ella offers homemade brownies and blondies, and also has a selection of vegan treats on offer.

Norwich Evening News:

Miss Marsham started the business before knowing how successful it would become, and now she wants to branch out to wedding catering and is planning to launch 'grazing boxes' for big events.

Miss Marsham said: "After I finished university, I decided to go all in with Eat With Ella, I took the risk and started doing it full time and I saw it change so much.

She has been inundated with orders since starting the venture from scratch while bored at home in lockdown.

She said: "The pandemic helped me with my business, I thought to myself if I don't do it now I never will.

"I took the plunge and I haven't looked back since. I can't imagine what I would be doing if it wasn't for Eat With Ella.

"Now things are calming down after the initial success during the lockdown, I'm now setting out plans for the long term and I hope to stand out from the crowd."

The baking business will expand this year to include savoury grazing boxes, which are made up of charcuterie, including locally sourced cheeses and meats and chutneys made in Norfolk.

She will be launching grazing boxes for one or two people and these will be available to order via her website.
