Nurses across the east of England are to strike for two days without pause amid an ongoing dispute over pay and working conditions.

The Royal College of Nursing has announced its biggest walkout ever, with thousands of nurses countrywide staging a strike for two days without pause from the beginning of March.

Last year, tens of thousands of the college's nurses took part in strikes to demand fair pay and improved patient safety which they claim the government has failed to act on.

Strikes will take place across England from the morning of Wednesday, March 1 to the morning of Friday, March 3, including staff from a number of Norfolk medical centres.

Those affected will be Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB.

It is currently unclear the number of nurses who will be striking, but a strike involving ambulance workers in the East of England earlier this month saw 1000 taking action across one day.
