Police have urged two city businesses to step up their security after a woman was harassed by a group of men in a shared car park.

Officers have told the David Lloyd gym and Holiday Inn in Drayton High Road to have a more visible presence at night in order to guard against the incidents.

They also gave advice to the fitness club's management on how to keep customers safe.

It comes after Anna Bunn claimed she was approached by a group of six middle-aged men after a gym session at the Hellesdon club at night on Friday, February 3.

She told this newspaper that the men followed her all the way to her car while whistling and catcalling, before approaching her on scooters in an attempt to scare her while holding up their phones as if they were recording her.

Norwich Evening News:

A police spokeswoman said: "Following the incident, beat managers for the area have spoken to the management of David Lloyd, Drayton High Road, in Hellesdon, where the incident took place.

"They also spoke to the security team in the Holiday Inn Express next door, offering guidance on having a more visible presence at night.

"Officers have additionally conducted foot patrols of the area, and these will continue over the coming weeks.

"There have been no other incidents reported to us of this nature recently, but we take these incidents seriously and encourage members of the public to report their concerns."
