A stylist who has worked with A-list stars including Harry Styles has spoken about his upbringing in Norwich.

Harry Lambert is behind red-carpet looks worn by Emma Corrin, Eddie Redmayne and football player Dominic Calvert-Lewin but is best known for his looks worn by One Direction star Harry Styles.

Norwich Evening News:

Although he has dressed many A-listers, Norwich-born Harry hasn't always been surrounded by celebrities and Hollywood stars.

He explained: "I never came from reading fashion magazines, I never came from knowing fashion.

"I grew up in Norwich. I loved wearing clothes and buying clothes and dressing myself, but that was never seen as a career - I didn't even know about styling."

Although he doesn't come from a 'traditional' fashion background, Harry attributes his youth to his success in the industry.

He continued: "A lot of my inspiration comes from [when] I used to go to drama classes on the weekend in Norwich."

His vibrant and daring aesthetic reflects his upbringing, and this has given birth to some of the most memorable fashion moments in the last few years - one of which was Styles' sheer 2019 Met Gala look.

Harry hopes his love of drama, pop culture and light-hearted approach to life comes across on the red-carpet.

He added: "Fashion can sometimes get a rep of being a snobby thing - always in my work, it needs to feel fun and light and welcoming."

Although his Norwich background doesn't immediately lend itself to the fashion industry connections afforded to others, he is grateful for this start in life.

"It took me longer to find my footing in fashion because I didn't have that education and that knowledge," Harry said.

"But I'm happy it happened that way around because I feel like I love it more, and I have a lot more to learn still."
