Gamers will be able to showcase their skills when a huge video games convention pitches up for a second year at the Norfolk Showground.

Called OLL 23 the event will again celebrate the biggest and best of the region’s gaming scene alongside a number of Norwich's gaming communities while including thousands of games across hundreds of consoles past and present.

Jon Gage is the founder of OLL, which stands for One Life Left, and is building on his success from last year's gaming convention with events at The Forum in February and a return to the Showground during the weekend of April 15-16.

Jon, 42, said gamers can expect this year's convention to be "bigger and better in every way" including a virtual appearance from a popular gaming show in the 90s.

He said: "One of the big things we're doing this year is a full evening schedule on the Saturday night including finals of our retro game championships.

"There will be challenges set out and recorded by Dominik Diamond, who hosted the show GamesMaster.

"We'll also have the largest exhibit of up-and-coming indie games in the region dedicated to more than 50 brand new, or unreleased, games available for people to play."

Having run the One Life Left café, in St Benedicts Street, in the past Jon is looking to move the OLL brand into a more lucrative direction.

He added: "I really enjoyed running such a large-scale event so I couldn't wait to organise more of the community.

"Last year was the first event on such a large scale and was a time-consuming process, but I was confident it would be great, because of the brilliant gaming community around Norwich and East Anglia.
