A Norfolk-based pizza company is enjoying its latest slice of success after getting stocked at hundreds of Asda branches.

One Planet Pizza was started by Mike Hill, 58, and his son Joe, 30, in 2016 after they spotted a gap in the market for good quality frozen vegan pizzas.

It started in Mike's garage in Norwich, but in 2018 moved into a production unit in Hethersett as the business grew.

Its frozen pizzas are now stocked at more than 600 shops across the UK, including many independent businesses, and there is a team of 10.

Last year, the pair secured a contract with Asda to stock three pizzas, the Three Cheeze Margherita, Mediterranean Vegetable and Spicy Peppernomi, as part of the supermarket's nurture scheme in 74 stores.

Due to the success of the partnership, the Spicy Peppernomi pizza has just been stocked at 389 stores nationwide, including the two Norwich branches and Great Yarmouth.

Mike Hill said: "It is the combination of a lot of hard work and marketing and the best thing is that our pizza is now available for everyone.

"A lot more people are more aware and conscious of the impact of meat and dairy production on the environment."
