After almost a year-long wait, planning permission has been granted for a new farm shop and café in a barn near Norwich.
Broadland District Council has just approved plans for a change of use for the existing agricultural building at Black Barn Farm in Salhouse.
It now allows owner Trevor Thain to push forward with plans to turn it into a farm shop, café, restaurant and butchery, with space for various local businesses.
He is hoping it will be completed by summer 2023 and Mr Thain believes it will secure the future of the farm.
It follows the success of the farmers' market that runs there on the second Saturday of each month, with the next one a Christmas edition on December 10 from 10am to 3pm.
There will be 50 local artisan producers, with mainly food traders and a few craft stalls.
Mr Thain said: "The farmers' market has been absolutely tremendous so off the back of that I see the potential in this.
"I am very passionate about making the farm shop a cooperative of small businesses."
