A man constantly mistaken for England star Jack Grealish has said he "doesn't mind the attention" but is "trying to be himself".

Footie fan Liam Wilson, from Norwich, is used to the attention having been dubbed the Manchester City ace's doppelganger.

The fitness coach is often approached for photos and says he's treated better in restaurants - but always admits he's not the £100m man.

But the 25-year-old said he doesn't mind playing along for photos and is "relaxed" about the attention he has received since the former Aston Villa winger rose to prominence after shining at Euro 2020.

He said: "It's really since he became more well-known that people kept pointing out the similarities.

"There's a certain angle where you can really see the likeness.

Norwich Evening News:

"I've always tried to be me but I can't deny that we have a similar haircut and have the same fashion sense."

Mr Wilson was recently holidaying in Dubai - a holiday favourite of Grealish - when he met a DJ who is a friend of the England international.

Norwich Evening News:

He said: "We tried to get Jack on FaceTime but unfortunately he didn't answer.

"It would be great to meet him one day because it would be funny to get a photo with him."

The real Grealish drew praise on Monday (November 21) after coming off the bench to score England's sixth goal in the Three Lions' 6-2 win over Iran in their first World Cup group stage match.

Norwich Evening News:

Several weeks ago, Grealish had promised to perform a special celebration for 12-year-old Manchester City fan Finlay, who has cerebral palsy, the next time he scored a goal.

That goal just happened to be in an England shirt and in front of more than 45,000 fans - and millions more at home - in the World Cup in Qatar.

Norwich Evening News:

And Mr Wilson hopes the goal gives the Birmingham-born footballer confidence for the rest of the tournament.

He added: "I hope that goal gives him a big confidence boost to do as well as he can.

"His celebration was brilliant yesterday and you can see he's a people person.

"I think England will go a long way but you never know what can happen in a World Cup."
