Police in Norwich are investigating after a man on a mobility scooter ran over a pigeon in the city centre.
The incident happened at about 10.40am on Monday, November 7, in St Gregory's Alley.
Following the crash the incident was reported to the police by the Peck Savers Facebook page, which aims to look after the birds of Norwich.
Officers say enquiries are currently ongoing.
It is an offence to kill a wild bird under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, however as pigeons are classed as vermin there are some circumstances when killing them can be allowed.
A police spokeswoman said: "Pigeons and other pest species listed under General Licenses (GL) can be killed for very certain reasons and if certain measures met.
"In this case, no GL will apply so it is an offence in these circumstances."
Anyone with any information should contact PC Christopher Shelley at Norfolk Police on 101, quoting crime reference 36/86400/22, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
