Staff and friends of the Norvic Clinic cycled, ran and canoed as they took part in an annual team triathlon event that has now raised over �10,000 for charity.
The Norvic Challenge saw teams of three line-up at the Thorpe St Andrew clinic, which is part of Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, for the event in aid of charities in Zimbabwe and India.
The teams cycled 7.5 miles from the clinic to the Fur and Feathers pub in Woodbastwick, ran from there to Salhouse Broad and canoed half a mile around the broad.
No individual prizes were on offer but there were a range of team challenges, with the City Crusaders taking the overall prize.
It was the third time that the event had taken place, with the main aim to raise money for charities, the El Shaddai Charitable Trust and the Just Children Foundation.
Sharon and Tony Freeman, staff at the Norvic Clinic, have supported the El Shaddai Charitable Trust ever since they met street children in Goa, India.
The pair were inspired to help and are now supporters of the charity that has set up children's homes, shelters and aid programmes for children.
The Just Children Foundation works with street children in Zimbabwe, where some of the Norvic Clinic staff are from.
Members of staff at the clinic were so touched by the stories of experiences with street children that they decided to hold a charity challenge for them. In 2009 they raised �2,282, last year they raised �3,593 and this year they were able to raise �4,759. Sharon Freeman, of the Norvic Clinic, said: 'A big thank you to everyone that took part in the Norvic Challenge, it was a fantastic day and very much appreciated. I'd like to thank Toby and the guys at Salhouse Broad for supporting this event every year. It would not be possible without their help.
'As well as providing much needed help to the Just Children Foundation in Zimbabwe and El Shaddai in India the day is a lot of fun for hard-working NHS staff.'
The race was supported by Canoe Hire Centres, Salhouse Broad and Barnes Brinkcraft.
