A Christmas tree festival in the heart of Norwich will be open to the public over the next few days.
The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Judith Lubbock, switched on the lights of more than 35 Christmas trees in St Peter Mancroft Church as part of the Christmas Tree Festival, co-organised by the Rotary Club of Norwich St Edmund.
Also attending the event was the Reverend Peter Nokes, vicar of St Peter Mancroft, the Reverend Philip Young, President of the Rotary Club of Norwich St Edmund and around 90 representatives of groups which sponsored and decorated the trees.
The main charities to benefit include East Anglian Children's Hospice, Cruse Norwich and the Mancroft Advice Project.
The festival also included a large memorial tree which will provide an opportunity for members of the public to make a dedication in memory of a loved one during the festival and in the weeks before Christmas.
Admission is free and the festival will be open today and tomorrow from 10am to 5pm, and on Sunday from 1pm to 6.30pm.
