Each week we put a Norwich resident in the hot seat and ask them 10 questions about themselves. This week we spoke with Harry Potter actor and Vice-President of UEA's Minotaur Theatre Company, Rohan Gotobed.

Describe Norwich in three words…

UEA is wonderful.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, which three people would you want to be stuck there with?

I'm going to be annoyingly sweet and say my friends Nyree, Tara and Ella. We'd probably annoy each other to death after a couple of days, but I can't think of a nicer way to perish on a deserted island.

If you could be anyone else who would you be?

Having grown up wanting to be an actor because of this show, I'd have to say The Doctor. He's such an amazing character and personality, and I would love to travel in time and space. David Tennant's incarnation in particular had a massive impact on my childhood, so it would feel wrong to say anyone else.

How would you spend a perfect weekend in Norwich?

As a UEA fresher, it's hard not to spend your Saturday night at the LCR, but either side of that I love nothing more than to go for a wander around the city; popping into bookshops and cafes – particularly the ones at Cinema City and Waterstones. It's such a nice area to live, so I have no intention of wasting the three years when I'll call Norwich home.

What's your mantra in life?

Ultimately, I believe everyone has an unavoidable purpose in life, but also that we all change the world in different (and sometimes subtle) ways. I also guess it's important to respect people, and I always admire those who take pride in what they do; regardless of how flippant that may appear to the ignorant.

Which song defines your life?

My Shot from the musical Hamilton. It captures perfectly the confidence and ambition that I'd like to embody in my life, as well as being a very good song.

Would you rather spend a night in front of the telly or a night out in the city?

A night out in the city (university has changed me). Ideally a trip to the theatre or the cinema, then dinner somewhere before a fun but safe night out.

What's your biggest fear?

Letting people down.

What one thing could you never live without?

My sight. Considering how much of my life I spend watching films or reading books, I'll always be thankful for the gift of good eyesight.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Give the money to the arts and the unfortunate. They need it more than I do (and please hold me to that promise should I ever get a lucky ticket!)
