Motorists hit the roads in their droves today, causing queues at Norwich petrol stations and some garages to put up the ‘sorry’ signs as pumps ran dry.

Via Twitter, @eLearnAndiB shared her image of the queues at the Shell garage on the A140 while our photographers Simon Finlay, Denise Bradley and Bill Smith captured scenes across the city.
