Work to upgrade the pedestrian crossing on Norwich's Unthank Road will begin next week.

The improvements will involve removing the existing puffin pedestrian crossing between Lincoln Street and College Road and replacing it with a zebra crossing, along with an integrated speed table and anti-skid carriageway surfacing.

In addition, new gullies will be installed and the road markings will be refreshed.

The work will start on Monday, January 22, and is expected to be complete by Friday, February 2.

From January 22 to 26 there will be traffic light-controlled lane closure around work area.

From January 29 to February 2, there will be the temporary closure of Unthank Road between Earlham Road and Colman Road to install speed table and related works.

Local access will be maintained during all road closures and diversion routes signed.

Special signs indicating businesses remain open will be put in place where required.
