Chance to have your say on Norwich bus service changes

Families have been urged to give a Norwich MP their views on bus services around the city, as fares rise and the county council makes cuts.
"Bus services are a big issue. If fares go up from the private sector, people want to get a better service in return. Companies such as First do seek to listen and they will not know what needs improving unless we tell them."
First East England buses raised its fares at the weekend, with an extra 10p added to many tickets.
And Norfolk County Council, which is making £155m of savings over the next three years is cutting the hours when bus pass holders can get free travel, increasing prices on park and ride buses and planning to close the information desk at the city’s bus station.
Chloe Smith, Norwich North MP, has launched a survey asking for people’s views on buses.
Miss Smith said: “Bus services are a big issue. If fares go up from the private sector, people want to get a better service in return. Companies such as First do seek to listen and they will not know what needs improving unless we tell them.
“Meanwhile, the public sector has naturally had to review what it can afford to do on behalf of taxpayers.
“People have views on all these things and I hope to hear what services people use in northern Norwich, what they like and what they don’t like.”
Green Party councillors were yesterday opposing the proposed closure of the information desk at Norwich bus station, ahead of a decision next Monday.
Adrian Ramsay, Green Party city councillor, said the information desk was “crucial” in helping people plan journeys and said County Hall had got its priorities wrong.
Graham Plant, cabinet member for travel and transport at Norfolk County Council has said the proposal to close the information desk, and reduce the opening hours of the travel centre from 24 hours a day to between 7am to 6.30pm would save about £250,000.
