Carrow Road lifting bridge repairs postponed due to weather

Wet weather forecast for this weekend has forced authorities to postpone planned repair work to the Carrow Road lifting bridge.
The repairs, estimated to cost £7,500, were due to be carried out on Sunday, but will instead take place from 4pm on November 19 and continue until 5am the following day.
Routine inspection of the lifting bridge has identified holes in the timber decking which are in need of urgent repair.
Due to their location, and need for the repair materials to cure before the bridge can be opened to traffic, the road will be closed to vehicles.
A signed diversion route will be put in place for vehicles while pedestrians will still be allowed to cross.
As the work is weather dependant a further closure has been provisionally set aside for November 26 and 27.
The work will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
