Green light for former Norwich pub to become backpackers’ hostel

Plans to turn a former Norwich pub into a backpackers' hostel have been given the go-ahead by city councillors.

The Ferry Boat Inn, in King Street, will be turned into a 200-bed hostel after members of Norwich City Council's planning applications committee granted it permission.

The plans for the grade II-listed building were put forward by Alister Borthwick and his son Jason, who created the award-winning Deepdale Farm campsite on the north Norfolk coast.
