For much of its history, it was a small riverside village.
But in the past two hundred years, Thorpe St Andrew has expanded and grown dramatically - taking on town status in 2006.
And today we are rewinding to the 1970s and visiting the community nestled on the River Yare east of Norwich.

There is the view along Thorpe River Green towards the Boat & Bottle, now the Rushcutters Arms.
We see glimpses of the Norwich Union social club at Pinebanks, the Grammar School and the Parish Church.
