World record holding professionals and enthusiastic amateur students will be amongst the cast of a unique circus take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol to be staged in Norwich this festive period.

The Oak Circus Centre will host three performances of seasonal cabaret show for all ages, A Christmas Circus Carol, on December 15, 16 and 17.

Inspired by Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the show will give both children and adults from The Oaks' popular circus courses the unique opportunity to perform alongside seasoned professionals from the Norwich-based multinational company Lost in Translation Circus.

Lost in Translation are rapidly becoming established as one of the country's leading and best-loved contemporary circus companies for their trademark warm humour combined with heart-stoppingly virtuosic skilful aerial and floor acrobatics.

The professional performers set to bring the show to life will include co-director Massimiliano Rossetti and core artist Roisin Morris who are the Guinness World Record holders for most somersaults on a Korean Cradle in one minute.

The company has toured widely throughout the UK and Europe and enjoyed repeat audience and critical success at the Edinburgh Festival. Earlier this year they gave a dazzling display of acrobatics on London's Southbank with the Houses of Parliament as their backdrop to launch the year-long national event Circus250 celebrating the 250th anniversary of circus.

Lost in Translation also scooped the People Choice awards for best small organisation or project at the Norfolk Arts Awards 2017.

The December 15 show will see performances from The Oak's growing community of adult students followed by the professional circus tutors; December 16 will showcase performances from the smallest circus enthusiasts; December 17 will feature young students from Norwich's Central School of Dance alongside a performance from the professionals.

The Oak Circus Centre is Lost in Translation's base, and is the only centre of its kind in the East Anglia run by experienced circus professionals.

It runs courses for all ages from complete beginners to those looking to make a career in the contemporary circus as well as providing rehearsal and creative facilities for visiting professional companies.

Amongst those who have recently used the facilities have been companies such as The Russian State Circus and Australia's Casus Circus.
