Fakenham Town have brought Robbie Harris back to Clipbush Park for a second stint as manager.

The striker spent this season as assistant manager at Wisbech St Mary and continued playing, scoring seven goals in 27 games to help the Fenland side to 13th place in their first season in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties First Division.

He previously was in joint charge at Fakenham alongside club stalwart Neil Jarvis, seeing out the final months of the 2014/15 season following Wayne Anderson's exit for Dereham Town Reserves.

The duo continued until Harris stepped down in January 2016 to go back to boyhood club St Mary, with Anderson eventually rejoining the Ghosts.

However, this season ended with Jarvis back in control after Anderson left the club a month ago, having signalled his intent to resign this summer, and the Ghosts were beaten 2-0 by King's Lynn in the Norfolk Senior Cup final.

A statement confirming Harris will return has been released, which says: 'Fakenham Town Football Club are delighted to announce Robbie Harris as our new first team manager.

'Robbie will bring fresh enthusiasm and a wealth of experience to fulfil the club's intention to play attractive football whilst improving the development and continued progression of all senior players at Fakenham Town.

'Over the last 16 months Clipbush Park has seen many positive changes in personnel, incorporating large investment in the pitches, clubhouse and infrastructure resulting in Fakenham Town FC facilities being amongst the best in the league.

'We are very ambitious and fully supportive of Robbie and all the players to raise the standards of football, performances and results to also be amongst the best in the league.

'Together the committee, managers, players, sponsors and supporters all look forward to a positive, successful and exciting future at Fakenham Town Football Club.'

The Ghosts finished this season in 15th place in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.
