There's an important match at the foot of the Gibbs Denley East Anglian League tomorrow, with the bottom two coming face to face at the Victory Ground.

Basement side Bury St Edmunds go into the match against visitors Norwich 31 points adrift and desperately need a win to avoid being cast adrift.

Norwich, on the other hand, will be aiming to put some distance between themselves and the one relegation slot and will certainly go into the crunch game in good heart after an excellent victory last Saturday.

Ashley Watson's men went into their match against title chasing Great Witchingham at Ingham very much as the underdogs but turned the form book upside down with a solid all-round performance that secured a three wicket success.

Vauxhall Mallards, currently third from bottom 23 points above Norwich, will certainly be watching events at Bury closely but will be focusing on their own task, a tough away match at Copdock and Ipswichian.

At the other end of the table leaders Sudbury play host to Horsford while champions Swardeston, 26 points behind in second, travel to Mildenhall.

Great Witchingham will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they host Cambridge Granta.

There's a big match in the Premier Division of the Cecil Amey Norfolk Alliance, with leaders Cromer travelling to champions Brooke, who moved up to second place last weekend after beating Fakenham by one wicket.

Meanwhile Winterton all-rounder Danny Snowling has been named as the Alliance player of the month for May. Over the course of the month Snowling scored 339 runs at an average of 67.8, including scores of 96, 86 and 84. This was backed up with 16 wickets at an average of 11.87 including performances of 4-14, 5-38 and 4-14.

Brendan Scott (Hardingham) was a close runner-up with scores of 104 not out, 100, 61 and 87.

This year's Carter Naco Cup Final will be between Thetford and Swaffham, with the fixture taking place at Dereham CC on Sunday, August 6.

Swaffham beat Sandringham by four wickets on Sunday after bowling them out for 108 while Thetford were handed a walk-over by scheduled visitors Winterton.
